What warranty do Köche chimneys come with?
Most Köche chimneys come with a 12-year warranty on the motor and 2 years of comprehensive product coverage.
How is a BLDC motor better than a traditional motor in chimneys?
A BLDC (Brushless DC) motor is a type of direct-current motor that uses electronic commutation instead of brushes and a mechanical commutator, offering higher energy efficiency, a longer lifespan, quieter operation, and reduced maintenance compared to a traditional brushed DC motor. This eliminates friction and wear associated with brushes, ensuring smoother performance, reliable suction, and greater durability — making BLDC chimney motors the smarter choice for modern kitchens.
How Should I Maintain My Köche BLDC Chimney for Optimal Performance?
Regular maintenance ensures your Köche BLDC Chimney stays efficient, safe, and looks pristine for years to come. Follow these key care tips to keep your kitchen’s centerpiece performing at its best:
1. Gentle Exterior Cleaning: Wipe the exterior regularly using a soft cloth dampened with lukewarm water and a mild soap solution or household detergent. Avoid abrasive materials, metal pads, harsh chemicals, or stiff brushes that could damage the surface.
2. Chimney Interior Cleaning: Activate the Heat Auto-Clean function by pressing the auto-clean button. During the 10-minute cycle, grease melts and collects in the oil tray, which can be easily removed and cleaned.
3. Preventive Service: For sustained performance and peace of mind, schedule preventive maintenance at least twice a year with an authorized Köche service center. Reach out to our customer care team to arrange a service visit.
What is the installation price for chimneys?
The standard installation charge for a chimney is ₹700, and the service is completed within 48–72 hours of raising the installation ticket. Note:Core cutting is not included in the installation cost.
How many services do I need in a year for any Köche chimney?
You need 2 periodic maintenance services per year and you can avail this service by subscribing to the Mandatory Preventive Maintenance Service (PMS) of Rs. 2000 Per Annum.
Can the product be returned or replaced?
A product can be returned or replaced within 15 days of delivery only if it is dead on arrival, damaged during transit, or has a major variance from the agreed specifications.
Can I do the installation if there are tiles or window?
Yes, chimneys can be installed on tiled surfaces. However, it must be done carefully to avoid any damage to the tiles. Installation is possible on windows too but the customer must provide the necessary support structure, and our team will assist to ensure it is installed securely.
How does heat auto-clean work?
• To initiate Heat Auto-Clean, press the auto-clean button on the control panel. A 10-minute timer will begin.
• For the first 9 minutes, the internal heater melts and loosens the grease.
• In the last 1 minute, the fan runs at low speed to blow the loosened grease out through the outlet.
• Any remaining residue collects in the oil collector tray behind the filter.
• After the cycle ends, carefully remove the tray, empty and clean it, and slide it back into place securely.
How should I select the size between 60, 75 & 90 cm?
Choose 60 cm for 2-burner stoves, 75 cm for 3–4 burners, and 90 cm for 4–5 burners or larger cooktops. For spacious kitchens or heavy cooking, 90 cm is recommended for better suction and coverage.
Are kitchen chimneys better than exhaust fans?
Yes, they are. Exhaust fans remove smoke only after it has already spread inside the kitchen. A chimney, on the other hand, provides instant ventilation by directly absorbing and expelling smoke, grease, and odours before they spread.
How do I decide on the suction capacity of a chimney?
Choose the suction capacity based on your kitchen size, cooking habits, and smoke or grease levels. For light cooking, 600–1000 m³/hr is sufficient. For heavy frying and grilling—common in Indian cooking—1200–1500 m³/hr or higher is recommended.
Can the product be returned or replaced?
A product can be returned or replaced within 15 days of delivery only if it is dead on arrival, damaged during transit, or has a major variance from the agreed specifications.
